The Teasmith Spirit Company wins Masters medal at Global Awards

Aberdeenshire gin producer The Teasmith Spirit Company has received a prestigious commendation at The Design & Packaging Masters - part of the internationally renowned Global Spirits Masters series. A panel of experts awarded a Master Medal to the Udny based spirits company, in a category judged on aesthetics, materials, creativity and strong branding on display. The Global Spirits Masters awards are run by The Spirits Business - a leading global spirits trade magazine, based in London.

The Spirits Business judges said: "The Teasmith Gin was beautifully restrained and thoughtful in its design".

The Master Medal is the highest commendation in the category and caps off another year of achievement for the company - who recently launched the first ever gin distilled with a batch of Scottish-grown tea - the Broich Single Estate - which marks the first specialised, small-batch ‘Grower’s Edition’ gin released by the company.

At Aberdeen’s recent Society Awards, The Teasmith were ‘Highly Commended’ in the Drinks Business of the Year category and earlier in 2019 were also voted the 5th best gin in Scotland in a Scottish Gin Society poll - in a field of 139 brands. The previous year also saw them win Silver (Gin & Tonic) and Gold (Artwork and Bottle Design) awards at the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) 2018 - and this latest recognition now brings their awards total to over 15.

Founders Nick and Emma Smalley - who work in partnership with Aberdeen-based brand agency FortyTwo Studio on their branding and packaging design - reflected on this latest success for The Teasmith:

“Once again we are blown away with this recognition of the brand design and packaging of The Teasmith Gin. An extremely high number of brands have entered the global marketplace this year and it is more important than ever to demonstrate quality not just in spirit but in the overall delivery of your product. This is at the centre of everything we do at The Teasmith Spirit Company.”
